Western Filament’s aerospace lacing tapes are engineered for demanding environments where secure, lightweight, and heat-resistant cable management is essential. Manufactured in the USA to strict quality standards (ISO 9001, AS9100), these tapes are braided from high-tenacity fibres and available in a range of materials and finishes to meet military and commercial aerospace specifications.
Lacing tapes come in a range of materials:
Nylon: Braided with high-tenacity nylon yarns, impregnated with various finishes. Operating temperature: –67°F to +325°F (–55°C to +162°C). Available in natural and black; other colours on request.
Polyester: Offers excellent mechanical stability and chemical resistance. Operating range: –100°F to +350°F (–73°C to +177°C). Meets A-A-52081.
Nomex®: Braided from aramid fibres, ideal for high-temperature and flame-resistant applications. Rated to 500°F (260°C). Meets BMS 13-54. Available with or without tracers for visual identification.
Teflon® (TFE-fluorocarbon): Exceptional resistance to fuels, oils, and vacuum conditions. Operating range: –100°F to +450°F (–73°C to +232°C). Available uncoated or with synthetic rubber for knot strength.
Teflon-Coated Fibreglass: For extreme environments up to +800°F (427°C), with low outgassing properties for space-rated use.
Widths range from 0.040" to 0.225", with break strengths from 15 to 200 lbs depending on type and size. Spools available in 250 or 500-yard lengths. Standard finishes include synthetic rubber, wax, silicone, and uncoated, meeting specifications such as A-A-52080/81/82/83 and BMS 13-54.
