New from Belling Lee and now stocked by Aerco, the Horsham based electromechanical component distributor, is a range of mains filters with in-built transient voltage protection.
The Premier Protected™ Filter (PPF) range has been designed to protect modern, sensitive electrical equipment and provides the designer with a single package combination EMC filter that addresses both EMI/RFI suppression and transient voltage protection. The new filters will help engineers to meet the requirements of 89/336/EEC and IEC 1000–4–4 immunity to electrical transients without the need for additional components or circuitry.
These new products were introduced in recognition of the increasing use of electrical equipment in all aspects of private and commercial life and the potential dangers of reduced reliability due to electromagnetic interference. They are built by optimising combinations of various styles of inductors with the appropriate capacitors, varistors and other components to give a comprehensive range of suppression levels.
The PPF range meets full international approvals and covers input currents up to 16A. Variants are available in various connection types including general purpose IEC inlet filters, high performance IEC inlet filters with options such as in-line chokes, earth-line chokes and single or double fuse holders. Chassis mounted versions are also available, as is a very high performance filter for switch-mode power supply suppression |
