Now available in the UK from Aerco is a new, NVG compatible, LED cockpit utility light from Paramount Panels (UK) that combines the functions of a fixed spot or floodlight and portable hand torch and is ideal for use in all types of search and rescue applications and military fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft.
Designed primarily for map reading and general floodlighting without compromising NVG operational flight safety, the self-coiling flexible supply lead is attached securely to the body of the light and the mounting is constructed so that the light may be snapped out of the socket and used as a torch over the length of the lead.
Operating from a 28V DC supply, the lamp weighs only 230g and illumination is achieved by a LED array that is filtered to produce a white, NVIS compatible light output to Mil-Std-3009. A rear-mounted control knob provides ON/OFF control, brightness adjustment and an instant full brightness function.
