Now available from Aerco is a range of inductive proximity sensors from Honeywell that is designed for use in harsh environments encountered in aerospace, ordnance and marine markets. The range is well suited for applications where demanding requirements in terms of temperature, vibration, shock, EMI/EMP and lightning protection are important criteria.
With ‘no-touch’ operation using highly reliable solid state technology, these sensors are mostly built with corrosion resistant stainless steel housings and are hermetically sealed by laser welding where necessary. They are designed to meet the requirements of the US and European aerospace, ordnance and marine markets in particular MIL standards, RTCA/DO 160, DEF, Airbus and Boeing specifications.
The sensors are reverse polarity and short circuit protected with fail-safe output and a Built-In-Test (BITE) facility is provided where necessary. Switching frequency is up to 2,000Hz and sensing distance is factory-adjusted to customer specification. All metal sensing is available on most products and ferrous metal sensing is provided with the high pressure and two part sensors.
A wide range of products makes these sensors suitable for many, diverse applications. Overmoulded versions are supplied for underwater applications and high-pressure sensors are available for use in hydraulic systems.
