The Railway market has seen tremendous growth and along with this comes higher demands on the wires and cables used on them. Habia Cable has been working to develop new materials to meet the future requirements of the modern railway industry.
Habia supplies cables for :
Wires for rolling stock cars from 0.5 to 300 mm2. The wire is lightweight, thin-wall, zero-halogen, low-smoke, fire resistant and low-toxicity.
Jumper Cables in-between trains. Flexibility and toughness are contradictory terms when it comes to cable design. Habia Cable supply a cable which meets both requirements and yet is strong enough to suit the application. The construction of the cable is normally made to customer demands or following UIC requirements.
Databus and coaxial cables. Several types of databus with similar requirements as the single wires. Cables are supplied as single databus or incorporated into a composite cable. Habia Cable can offer a vast range of halogen-free, low-smoke coaxial cables, varying from standard RG58 equivalents to ultra low-loss, high-power transmission lines.
EMC protection. Habia Cable offer different screening options to meet the EMC requirements of your system, taking into consideration cable size, weight, flexibility and screen termination method. Whether it be a simple aluminised foil screen, an optimised double braid or a complex superscreen incorporating mu-metal tapes to counter EMP, we provide an EMC solution which is fit for purpose, cost effective and compatible with all major interconnection systems.
Cable size & weight. Habia’s insulation materials are rated for higher temperatures, allowing the wires to carry a higher current than conventional cables. With this, smaller cross sections can be used, enabling substantial cost and weight savings. |
