Custom Design Cables
Habia specialise in the design and manufacture of custom design cable solutions to provide conductor, screen insulation and jacket designs to specific requirements. Because no two customer’s requirements are ever the same, Habia goes beyond the traditional multicore cable to produce truly custom design cables to meet their customer’s needs.
Custom Mulitcores
An alternative solution to cable-trays and conduits
Often, the requirements on a cable are far more than just a few wires bundled together. Custom designed multicore cables give the option for electrical and magnetic screening or the physical protection of an armour, whilst composite cables enable many different components to be included: cores, coaxials, hoses and strain members to name but a few, all within a single cable to the customers’ specification.
As with Habia’s custom-built equipment wires, the range of materials available for multicore use is far wider than that of the standard products. Fluoropolymers, Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LS0H) compounds, irradiated materials, rubbers and braided insulations and jackets enable the right material to be used for the right job.
Custom Thermocouple Cables
Extension and Compensation cables for unusual applications
As a custom cable manufacturer, Habia have the choice of many insulation and jacketing materials. With our specialilty of making high-performance cores and multicore cables, Habia are able to offer where an off-the-shelf product just won’t do.
Possibly the most common type, the KX extension cable is made from the same elements as its Type K thermocouple. There is also a compensation cable available for this type (KCB).
Made from the same elements as the Type T thermocouple that it is used with. It should be noted that there is no compensating cable available for Type T, however the extension cable is relatively inexpensive.
As with the TX extension cable, there is no compensating cable available for Type J, however the extension cable is also relatively inexpensive.
Although there is a compensating cable available for Type N Thermocouples, it is not commonly available.
As with Type T and Type J, there is no compensating cable available for Type E.
The compensating cable for use with a Type K thermocouple and a KX extension cable, a KCB should only be used when the temperature surrounding of the interconnection point between the cable and sensor is below 100ºC.
