Glenair manufactures the straight lipped high ratio heat shrink boots that are used when the wire or cable bundle is a much smaller diameter than the adapter.
Type 1 High Performance Elastomer:
The straight lipped high ratio boots are semi rigid which perform at extreme temperatures and have excellent resistance to fuels, oils and solvents. Operating temperature from -75º to +150ºC. The high performance heatshrink boot material meets the requirements of VG95343 Type 6, BSG 198-5-DE, EN62329-102 and SAE AS5258 Type H. These boots are suitable for military vehicles, petrochemical exploration and other demanding environments.
Type 2 Low Smoke, Zero Halogen:
The halogen free, semi flexible, straight lipped high ratio boots from Glenair are flame retardant polyolefin boots that meet the low smoke and toxicity requirements of shipboard, transit and aircraft systems. With good resistance to oils, fuels and solvents, the low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) heat shrink boots fit most standard adapters that include AS5258 and material meets the requirements of NAVSEA 5617649, VG95343 Part 29, BSG 198-5-DF, EN62329-101 and SAE AS5258 Type G. These boots provide strain relief and environmental protection to connector/ cable transitions with a temperature rating -30ºC to +125ºC and available with high temperature hot melt adhesive lining.
Type 3 Polyolefin, Flexible:
The straight lipped high ratio boots from Glenair are economical flexible polyolefin boots that have good resistance to oils and fuels and are available with optional hot melt adhesive lining. These self-extinguishing boots fit standard M85049 shrink boot adapters and provide strain relief and environmental protection to connector/ cable transitions. The polyolefin boots meet the requirements of SAE AS81765/1 Type II and are temperature rated -55ºC to +135ºC. |
